Lee Roy Selmon's story is a mix of football scholarships for his family and service to his community. His first family is that he's the youngest out of the nine children raised in Eufala through Lucious Selmon. Two soccer. He is among the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award for being the nation's best lineman. He won two championships and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. The National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in the year 1975. Selmon earned his degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in his time in college. Following college, he relocated to Tampa and played for nine years for Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro for three occasions. He then began his professional career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when, in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of 10 outstanding youngsters across the country. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing 256 pounds in college as a player, captained his team throughout 1975. In 1993, he was named assistant director of the University of South Florida. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
