Kathrin Romany Beckinsale (born 26 July 1973)[1][2][3] is an English model and actress. While at Oxford where she was a model, she made her film debut in Much Ado About Nothing (1993). Beckinsale appeared in British costume dramas like Prince of Jutland (1994), Cold Comfort Farm (1995), Emma (1996), Shooting Fish (1997) (a contemporary romantic comedy) and The Golden Bowl (2000) along with various broadcast and stage productions. In the mid 1990s, Beckinsale began film work in the United States. After starring in small-scale dramas The Last Days of Disco (1998) and Brokedown Palace (99), Beckinsale appeared in Pearl Harbor (2001), Serendipity (2002) as well as Tiptoes (2004). Then she starred in the aforementioned films with her starring roles in The Aviator (2004) and Click (2006). All of these films made her a main character in Hollywood.Since playing the role of Selene in the Underworld film series (2003-2016), Beckinsale has been recognized for her role in action movies, including Van Helsing (2004), Whiteout (2009), Contraband (2012), as well as Total Recall (2012). Her roles in dramas such as Snow Angels (2007) or Nothing but the Truth (2008) and Everybody's Fine (2010) continue. The two films she received positive reviews. She was nominated to receive the Critics Choice Movie Award for Best Actress in a Comedy for Love & Friendship in 2016. Jolt (2021) was her next film. Also, she starred in Jolt (2021), The Widow (1919) and Guilty Party (2021).
